In addition to aeration, stirring technology also plays a decisive role in wastewater treatment
On the one hand, it ensures that activated sludge flakes are constantly in motion and that metabolic products can thus be exchanged between microorganisms and the medium water and removed in further process steps.
On the other hand, sufficient mixing by stirring ensures that deposits are avoided and suspensions are always kept homogeneous.
However, agitators are not only used in the aeration tank. They are equally important for the circulation of wastewater in upstream process steps, such as buffer storage tanks, pumping stations or denitrification basins, as well as downstream process steps, such as disinfection or sludge storage basins.
All applications differ in terms of different inflow flows and solids concentrations, which is why an agitator must also be designed very precisely.
We use the following technologies mainly, but not exclusively, for recirculation in wastewater treatment plants:
Highly efficient, slow-running agitators:
Low speed submerged stirrers (horizontal) with propeller-diameters up to 2,500 mm for highest efficiency demands
High-speed agitators in various designs:
High speed submerged stirrers (horizontal) with propeller-diameter up to 1,000 mm for projects with economic focus
Hyperboloid agitators for difficult tasks:
Hyperboloid agitators as vertical agitators with a focus on ease of maintenance for reliable agitation performance of wastewater with a high solids content or unfavorable properties of the sludge
We have a wealth of experience in all of these areas and can design the ideal mixing system for you, taking into account the upstream and downstream process steps
